Would you rather price your app at $49.99 and sell 10 copies or charge $0.99 and sell 30,000?

Sometimes, it seems that even one dollar is too much for the users to buy it, especially if the app is coming from a small developer team. With 400,000 apps in the store, more than half of which are free, the users can choose – and they usually pick the free ones. Therefore, it seems inevitable that if you are an independent developer or a small team you should consider making a free app and finding a way how to make the most of it.

Publishers won the in-app purchase battle, Apple hopes to win the war

Three weeks before the much-discussed subscription policy was to come into effect, Apple decided to change their take on the content that is subscribed to outside of the app. Now, iOS apps publishers can show content for subscribers, even if they don’t offer the in-app subscription (and give 30% to Apple).

Here at Dear Future Astronaut, we always say that we live mobile, breathe mobile and create mobile. And last week we decided to prove it. Although one third of our team was out of the country on holidays, last Thursday we decided to create the first DFANY Escape session – full day (and night) creative development and team-building experience.

This was an ESCAPE from the every-day obligations, tasks for clients and company routine into the world in which the only limits are your imagination and what you can do in only one day. And as we wanted to show that when the chains of everyday business life are unleashed, and creativity is taken to lead us the way, we can achieve great things for a very small period of time.
